Our Physician

With a Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine and over a decade of experience working in both hospital settings and as an outpatient clinician, Dr. Salwa Bakkali-Derksen is a highly skilled internal medicine physician with extensive experience in treating diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia.

Dr. Derksen has a strong interest in rheumatology, naturopathic medicine, and women’s health, renowned for providing outstanding patient care.

She has worked at the Mayo Clinic and Northfield Hospital, where she had an outstanding approval rate with over 90% patients' recommendation rate.

This was the most thorough exam I have had in years. Dr. Salwa Bakkali-Derksen was exceptional about explaining everything from the benefit I was getting from my vitamins, to ones I no longer needed to suggestions for other issues. She was very expressive which I appreciated and she listened to every concern. She did a breast exam which no one has been doing, she checked reflexes, she checked mobility - wow, some of those things no one has done for years. I will definitely want to see her again!!!!
